In The Community

Federation of Small Businesses member

Part of being a local company is being part of the local community. To this end DANASEG has become involved in various local projects since we started, and hope to continue to do so.

--- Around Bexhill ---

As many town centres start looking identical with the same shops in each, Bexhill has managed to maintain its identity with an excellent range of indepently owned and run shops, restaurants and businesses. But running your own business can be tough (as we know from our own experience), so this site was set up to support the local community.

DANASEG designed and developed the site at their own cost. The site lists every shop and business in Bexhill town center and Little Common - this area will expand soon - along with street maps showing where shops are and restaurant index. Shops and businesses have been invited to have promotional page on the site, in effect offering them their own presence on the Internet. Visit the site at www.around-bexhill.co.uk

--- Hands Off The Conquest ---

Hands Off The ConquestThe possible closure of the accident & emergency facilities at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings is a matter of concern for anyone living in the vicinity. We have had to make use of the A&E facilities ourselves, as have a number of our friends and clients. Had there been no A&E facility at the Conquest, the lives of our friends may have been lost.

DANASEG created the web site for the campaign at www.handsofftheconquest.org.uk and continue to maintain and update it, as well as handling all email through the site. We have also distributed support posters and petitions both around Bexhill and through every client we have visited since the campaign began.

--- Friends of SureStart (Bexhill) ---

FOSS Friends Of Sure StartSure Start is the government programme to deliver the best start in life for every child. The Friends of Sure Start - often known as FOSS - is a non-profit group that raises funds to help support the work of Sure Start in the local community.

As part of our support for FOSS we have provided logo designs, created the artwork for T-shirts and banners, designed a variety of official stationery, and totally overhauled their accounts system to make it easy to track the income and expenses of the various projects.

Lisa Segal, a director of DANASEG, sits on the volunteer committee of FOSS.

--- The BATS ---

The BATSThe Bexhill Amateur Theatrical Society, more commonly known as the BATS, has been a part of the Bexhill landscape since 1935.

We have been members of the BATS since 2002, and have been advertising with them since 2003. We were responsible for setting up the BATS web site which we continue to maintain. and have provided our expertise in music and sound editing to productions including the acclaimed 2003 production of Travels With My Aunt and the ground-breaking 2005 production Scenes From a Memory.

--- Schools ---

In conjunction with local schools we have offered free talks on the subject of Children and The Internet. After putting the project on hiatus, we hope to resume offering these talks in early 2007.
